INFORMAL CONTRACTIONS
Informal constractions are similar to contractions. Contractions in English are words or phrases that are shortened by dropping one or more letters and replacing them with an apostrophe. This short form is commonly used in speaking and in informal writing.
In English, informal contractions are shortened forms of other words and phrases. They are similar to slang. Slang is a very informal way of communicating. For example, you could say yeah instead of yes, or you might say cool to say you like something or agree with someone. They are very common in American English. We don't usually write them except in texts, casual emails, and informal comments on social media (Facebook, Whatsapp, etc).In formal speech or writing, we should not use informal contractions.
SLANG
Slang is vocabulary that is used between people who belong to the same social group and who know each other well. Slang is a very informal language. It can offend people if it is used about other people or outside a group of people who know each other well. We usually use slang in speaking rather than writing. Slang changes quickly, and it can disappear from the language. Slang normally refers to particular words and meanings but can include longer expressions and idioms.
